Two Natural Ways To Whiten Your Teeth

If you have stains on your teeth or you've been noticing they are getting discolored, there are some natural ways you can go about whitening them. Once you get your teeth whiter, you'll find you feel like smiling more than ever before. Try following the tips below to get your teeth whiter and brighter:

Make a paste out of lemon juice and baking soda

It's probably no surprise that baking soda can be used as a tooth whitener. People have been using it to brush their teeth for a long time. However, you can make a paste out of both baking soda and lemon juice that will help to remove stains and bring your teeth back to a whiter state.

In order to make this paste, you're going to take a few teaspoons of the baking soda and mix it with fresh lemon juice. The amount of lemon juice you use will be just enough to create a paste that doesn't have a gritty feel to it. Once the paste is made, you will put it on your toothbrush and use it to brush your teeth.

Normally when you brush your teeth, you'll rinse the toothpaste off right away. When you use this paste you're going to want to leave the paste on your teeth for a moment so it has a chance to do its job. Rinse your mouth with water as you normally would after you're done. Lemon juice can be hard on your teeth if you overdo it, due to the acid, so you don't want to leave the mixture on too long.

Make a paste out of peroxide and baking soda

Baking soda can also be mixed with peroxide to whiten your teeth. While this paste may not taste as pleasant as using lemon juice, it will whiten your teeth a bit faster than the paste detailed above. You want to take a few teaspoons of baking soda and slowly add peroxide until you come up with a paste.

You want to make sure you mix in enough of the peroxide that the baking soda isn't gritty. Otherwise, the harsh grittiness of the baking soda can actually remove some of the enamel from your teeth.

Put the paste on your toothbrush and use it to brush your teeth when you normally would. Since the peroxide is an anti-bacterial agent it will help whiten your teeth while it cleans your gums and the rest of your mouth. Rinse your mouth as you normally would once you're done brushing.

Using the above pastes to clean your teeth will help to remove stains from coffee, tea and other foods. The pastes will also help make your teeth whiter and brighter. For more information about whitening your teeth or other dental concerns, contact your local dentist
